Job summary

DWS is seeking a Senior Android Engineer in Melbourne to join a high-performing digital team responsible for a flagship mobile app used nationwide. You will help shape the future of a market-leading platform and work flexibly in a hybrid role with onsite collaboration.

You will work with experienced Android engineers, product specialists, UX designers, and security stakeholders to deliver performant, secure mobile experiences at scale. This role starts ASAP with a 6-month initial contract.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial Android development experience in large-scale apps.
• Advanced Kotlin development in enterprise Android environments.
• Strong knowledge of Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and MVX patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver Android features from concept to production release.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction across the Android platform.
• Maintain high code quality via peer reviews, testing, and best practices.
• Address technical debt and contribute to platform improvements.
• Participate in API contract reviews and design discussions.
• Collaborate with delivery teams for seamless integration of mobile capabilities.
• Optimize performance, accessibility, reliability, and compliance with Android standards.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing and coaching.
• Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
