Job summary

Northern Sydney Local Health District – Frenchs Forest NSW is seeking experienced anaesthetic nurses to join our perioperative team. Both permanent full‑time and part‑time roles are available, 38 hours per week, remuneration $1,566.70 - $2,199.60 per week.

You’ll work closely with anaesthetists to prepare patients for procedures, assist during induction and monitoring, and support recovery in the PACU, while upholding NSW Health standards and participating in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse - Division 1 with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
• A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Understanding of professional, ethical and legal requirements for Registered Nurses.

Responsibilities

Where you'll be working
The Interventional Suite accommodates adult & paediatrics patients, for planned & unplanned procedures &/or surgery. It comprises: 14 state-of-the-art operating theatres including a hybrid theatre & a cardiothoracic theatre; 2 Cardiac Catheter Labs; 4 Procedure Rooms; 41 bed Recovery Unit; and state of the art Sterilizing Services Department.

What you'll be doing
As an anaesthetic nurse at Northern Beaches Hospital, you can expect to work closely with anaesthetists to prepare patients for procedures, assist during induction and maintenance of anaesthesia, and monitor patient safety throughout surgery. The role involves managing specialised equipment, responding quickly to changes in patient condition, and supporting recovery in the post-anaesthesia care unit. You will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced perioperative environment, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient comfort.
You will support a culture of continuous learning, teamwork and innovation, and contributes to service excellence through participation in quality improvement initiatives, education, research and accreditation activities, while maintaining professional competency standards and compliance with NSW Health and NSLHD policies and procedures.
