Job summary

Redlands seeks an energetic Alumni and Community Relations Manager in Sydney to lead engagement initiatives with alumni, parents and community groups. You will manage communications, events and content across channels, while supporting fundraising efforts.

The role requires strong relationship skills, experience with CRM systems, and a commitment to the school’s values and community ethos. You will work closely with the Development team and school leadership.

Qualifications

  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement across diverse groups.
  • CRM systems experience, preferably Engage and Raiser's Edge.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills for multi-channel content.
  • Experience in brand marketing and following a corporate style guide.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and report insights.
  • Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision, on time and budget.
  • Experience with social media platforms and school/education sector background.

Responsibilities

  • Lead alumni engagement strategy, communications, mentoring, and database management.
  • Strengthen ties with parents and community groups through collaboration and events.
  • Plan and deliver alumni community events, reunions and tours.
  • Manage alumni content across digital and print platforms with professional messaging.
  • Cultivate alumni giving in collaboration with the Development team.
  • Support school-wide activities and promote best practices in community engagement.

About this Opportunity

We are looking for an energised, talented and passionate Alumni and Community Relations Manager to join the Redlands team.

The Alumni and Community Relations Manager serves as the key link between the School, its alumni, the Alumni Advisory Committee, and parent groups, leading engagement initiatives to foster lifelong connections through events, ,community-focused programs and philanthropic endeavour.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Alumni Engagement | Lead alumni strategy, communications, mentoring, and database management to foster lifelong connections and support
  • Community Relations | Strengthen ties with current parents and community groups through collaboration, advice, event support and feedback
  • Events | Plan and deliver alumni community events, including reunions and school tours
  • Marketing & Communications | Manage alumni content across digital and print platforms, ensuring consistent and professional messaging
  • Philanthropy | Cultivate alumni giving through relationship-building and collaboration with the Development team
  • General Support | Assist with school-wide activities and programs, maintaining awareness of best practices in community engagement
About you

The successful applicant will the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Outstanding relationship management skills with the ability to develop effective and ongoing relationships across a variety of stakeholders
  • Degree in a relevant field of study (Marketing, Communications, Business, etc) or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of discretion and sensitivity
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working with CRM systems (Redlands use Engage and Raiser's Edge)
  • Experience in brand marketing and adherence to a corporate style guide
  • Analytical skills with the ability to create, analyse and provide commentary on reported data
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with minimal supervision, on time and within budget
  • Experience with social media platforms
  • Experience working in School or Tertiary education sector
  • Experience in and/or understanding of philanthropy

They will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer relations skills along with the ability to work well with staff at all levels of the organisation
  • Willingness to support the ethos and values of the School
  • The ability to demonstrate professional conduct and discretion at all timesThe ability to work proactively within the department and autonomously as required
