Qualifications

Tertiary Qualifications equivalent to Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of welding experience in industrial, construction, or maintenance settings.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
Current driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on structural steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to execute accurate welds.
Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and equipment used in government facilities.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of welding tools and safety gear.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to meet timelines and quality standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment per WHS regulations.
Inspect and maintain welding tools, PPE, and equipment for readiness and compliance.
Report hazards, incidents, and near misses and participate in safety briefings.
