Job summary

Seek is seeking a qualified MIG and TIG welder for a full-time role in Melbourne. The position covers heavy vehicle welding, fabrication and repairs, with shift 7:30am–3:30pm and overtime as required.

You will work in a small team, follow safety instructions, and thrive under pressure. Tasks include arc welding, plasma and flame cutting, trailer refurbishment and stock assembly; a valid driver’s license is required and a pre-employment medical will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Heavy Vehicle welding work
• Ensure welding and cutting using arc/plasma/flame are performed safely
• Fabricate and repair Heavy Vehicles and parts
• Complete welding tasks to industry standards
• Assemble trailers and refurbish stock for sale
• Operate heavy machinery to cut and shape materials
• Maintain and care for company equipment
• Assist workshop staff in trailer refurbishments
• Communicate effectively with workshop and office staff

Job description

Full Time Role 7:30am - 3:30pm Mon - Fri, must be available for overtime.

Must be qualified MIG and TIG welder.

You will be required to:

• Undertake Heavy Vehicle welding work
• Ensure when welding and cutting parts, using arc-welding, plasma and flame cutting equipment, the tasks are performed efficiently and safely
• Fabricate and repair Heavy Vehicles and parts as required
• Welding tasks must be completed as a minimum to the industry accepted high standards
• Assembly of trailers and associated tasks to bring stock to an acceptable standard for sale
• Use heavy machinery provided in a safe efficient manner to cut and shape materials for trailer fabrication
• Maintain and care of company equipment provided for day to day tasks
• Assist other workshop staff in the process of trailer refurbishments
• Communicate effectively with all workshop and office staff
