The Role

Pantoro is seeking a suitably qualified and motivated experienced Mining Engineer who will be responsible for the planning implementation and direction of the various engineering aspects of the of the Underground Mining Operations at Norseman Gold Operation.The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of the underground mine, which will include optimising development designs, and stope drill/blast designs to minimise dilution and to maximise gold recovery.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Optimise drill/blast designs to minimise dilution and to maximise gold recovery.
• Prepare accurate short-term mining schedules in order to meet mine targets.
• Liaise with the Senior Mine Engineer with regards to mine planning and schedule priorities.
• Assist the Senior Mining Engineer with productivity rates for longer term schedules.
• Co-ordinate and manage daily mine production activities to achieve targets.
• Conduct daily reconciliation and variance analysis against designs and schedules.
• Identify and investigate production bottlenecks and implement methods to eliminate or mitigate.
• Liaise with Mine Surveyors, Geologists, and Contractor Supervision team.
• Assisting in ensuring compliance to Work Health and Safety Act and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022,
• Ensuring that site safety policies,procedures and standards are being followed.
• Assist in the training development of graduate mining engineers as required.

About You

• Degree qualified Mining Engineer or equivalent
• Demonstrated understanding of mine planning, scheduling, and production
• Prior experience with gold mining and or narrow vein operation
• Competent use of Datamine, VentSim software or similar
• Drivers’ License.
• National Police Clearance

A modern accommodation village is situated within the Norseman Township with full messing facilities servicing the project. Employees will also have access to the town facilities and services, providing the best of both worlds while on site.

About the Project

The Norseman Gold Project is an exciting new development that includes the construction of a new 1 million tonne per annum processing plant and development of multiple large open pits and underground mines. A combination of new mines, cutbacks and underground mine extensions is now underway.

The project is 725km East of Perth and 200km south of Kalgoorlie.

The project has a current mineral Resource of 4.5M ounces with many of the defined resources open along strike and at depth. Existing mine life is approaching 10 years. Ongoing organic growth is expected with drill rigs focused on Ore Reserve growth currently operating.
