Job summary

Ballarat Community Health is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to support individual and group clients in prescribed exercise programs under an Exercise Physiologist. The role emphasizes coaching, health education and helping clients build independence in managing their health.

You will work closely with clients, families and other health professionals to achieve health goals and maintain accurate notes and documentation as part of a funded service.

• Take a positive, respectful and caring approach to working with clients and colleagues.
• Hold, or are working towards, a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of exercise programs to individual and group clients under the direction of an Exercise Physiologist.
• Monitor clients during exercise and provide feedback to the treating Exercise Physiologist.
• Help clients build self-management skills and independence through health coaching, education, and connecting them with suitable support groups and health and wellbeing programs.
• Work closely with clients, families, carers, and other health professionals to support health and wellbeing goals.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation as part of a funded service.

We’re looking for a motivated and community-focused Allied Health Assistant to support clients to participate in exercise, improve their health and build independence. You’ll support individual and group clients to participate in prescribed exercise programs. You’ll provide encouragement, monitor how clients respond and share feedback with the treating clinician, helping clients develop skills to manage their health. If you enjoy working with people, have an interest in exercise and wellbeing, and want to make a difference as part of a supportive team, this could be the role for you.
