Job summary

Forsight Australia is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to support individuals with disability in developing life skills and independence. You will work with experienced practitioners in a multidisciplinary team at our Silverwater head office, gaining exposure to behaviour support and allied health practice.

The role offers hands-on experience, professional development opportunities, and a clear pathway into future allied health and behaviour support roles.

Qualifications

• Final year or recent completion of a relevant degree in allied health or therapy.
• `WWCC`/Working with Children Check is required.
• Experience supporting people with disability or neurodivergence.
• Ability to manage administrative responsibilities and billing/compliance.

Job description

As our Behaviour Support team continues to expand, we are looking for a passionate Allied Health Assistant to join our growing team. In this rewarding role, you will support individuals with disability to develop practical life skills, increase independence, and achieve meaningful outcomes. Working closely with experienced practitioners, you'll gain invaluable exposure to behaviour support and allied health practice while contributing to high-quality, person-centred services.

The position will primarily be based in our Head Office located in Silverwater.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Deliver therapy and skill-building support by implementing clinician-developed programs that help clients build independence, communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Support clients in community and everyday settings to practise functional, social, and behavioural strategies that promote participation and achieve individual goals.
• Develop resources and monitor progress through data collection, creation of visual supports, social stories, schedules, and providing feedback to clinicians on program effectiveness.
• Provide administrative and compliance support including maintaining client records, managing service documentation, assisting with audits, referrals, billing processes, and other team support activities.

The successful candidate will possess

Currently in the final year of, or recently completed, a degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Counselling, or another therapeutic, healthcare, or educational discipline.

Experience supporting individuals with disability or neurodivergence in therapeutic, educational, community, or placement settings.

A genuine passion for supporting people with disability to achieve meaningful goals and increased independence.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, families, and stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to manage administrative responsibilities, including billing, compliance activities, and service agreement preparation.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail.

Competence using client management systems (e.g. Nightingale or similar), Microsoft Office, and digital communication platforms.

Ability to maintain accurate, compliant, and confidential client documentation and records.

Unrestricted Australian working rights- open to sponsorships

Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Valid and unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

In addition, our ideal candidate would also have

• Exposure to allied health, clinical, or therapeutic service environments through employment, student placements, or volunteer experience.
• Experience creating therapy resources such as visual supports, social stories, schedules, and learning materials using tools such as Canva and PowerPoint.
• Experience collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to support therapeutic, behavioural, or client-focused interventions.
• Student or affiliate membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. AHPRA, SPA, OTA, ACA or similar).
• An application submitted for, or possession of, an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner number.
