Job summary

SA Health’s Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network – Whyalla is seeking an Allied Health Assistant (AHA2) to support the Restorative Care team and patients in the Far North region. You will assist with screenings, therapy programs, Telehealth, and equipment preparation under supervision.

The role requires a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent, and a commitment to patient care with flexible, supportive work arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Hold or be working towards a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for working in a healthcare environment and supporting patient care.
  • Ability to work under supervision and follow relevant policies, procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Support Allied Health Professionals and the Restorative Care team in delivering allied health services to patients and clients.
  • Assist with screenings, therapy programs, Telehealth services and equipment preparation.

About the Role:

You will support Allied Health Professionals and the Restorative Care team in delivering allied health services to patients and clients. Working under supervision and direction, you will assist with screenings, therapy programs, Telehealth services and equipment preparation, while contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of programs that support patient goals and independence.

  • Hold or be working towards a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for working in a healthcare environment and supporting patient care.
  • Ability to work under supervision and follow relevant policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexible and physically capable of supporting a range of therapeutic activities and handling patient-related equipment.
  • This role attracts a fixed allowance that ensures a minimum salary equivalent to AHA2 (third increment) pro-rated, based on the Undertaking as within the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025.
