Job summary

Perth Airport is seeking an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Supervisor to lead a skilled maintenance team responsible for baggage handling systems. Reporting to the Port Manager, you will drive preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, and operational reliability in a high‑performing environment.

This hands-on leadership role offers autonomy to influence safety, compliance, and system performance while working with advanced automated systems and key airport stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification (A Grade).
• Previous supervisory experience or second in charge.
• Experience within airports, automation, materials handling, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or other critical infrastructure environments.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Exposure to PLCs, SCADA, automation, or control systems.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a team of technicians, apprentices, and trade assistants.
• Driving preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Supporting fault finding, diagnostics, and operational recovery when required.
• Building strong relationships with airport stakeholders and contractors.
• Maintaining high safety and compliance standards.
• Identifying opportunities to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Creating a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
