Job summary

Vanderlande Industries GmbH is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician (Shift) to support the baggage handling system at Sydney International Airport. This full-time on-site role operates on a 12-hour shift roster in a 24/7 environment.

The successful candidate will perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure WHS compliance. Strong English communication and experience with industrial automated equipment are required.

Qualifications

• Australian Trade qualification with Certificate III in Engineering – Electrical, with at least 3 to 5 years' post-trade experience as a Service Technician
• Strong electrical background working on industrial automated equipment.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (English).

Responsibilities

• Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance on a baggage handling system.
• Day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment.
• Conduct electrical maintenance inspections and diagnose/repair electrical components.

Role Description

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician (Shift), your role within the team is to undertake preventative and corrective maintenance on a baggage handling system incorporating automated storage cranes and specialised transport systems. This is a full-time on-site role incorporating 12hr shifts on a 24/7 roster located at Sydney International Airport. The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of all electrical systems and equipment. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, conducting electrical maintenance inspections, diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and components, and ensuring compliance with WHS standards.

Key Focus Areas

• Preventative and corrective maintenance (electrical).
• Fault finding on automated systems.
• Using data analytics to enhance system performance.
• Providing technical support to our customers.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following:

Australian Trade qualification with Certificate III in Engineering – Electrical, with at least 3 to 5 years' post-trade experience as a Service Technician

• Strong electrical background working on industrial automated equipment.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (English).

Highly Regarded

• Dual Trade Certificate (electrical and mechanical).
• Experience in logistics, postal sorting, and baggage handling systems is highly regarded.
• Experience with automation (conveyors and sortation systems)
• Highly motivated with a keen interest in further developing your own abilities and studies.
