Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia is seeking a highly motivated aircraft maintenance engineer for the Black Hawk program. Based at Holsworthy, NSW, you will perform maintenance and certification within your authorisation scope, ensuring airworthiness and proper record endorsements.

You will also support Maintenance Managers, sign off tasks, and mentor junior technicians. Essential qualifications include AeroSkills Mechanical Cert IV+, MAML on the relevant type, and DASR compliance, with the ability to

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV or higher in Aeroskills – Mechanical.
  • Appropriate aircraft trade qualifications (papers, apprenticeship).
  • Excellent knowledge of DASRs and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to rotate roster and work across shifts.
  • Eligible for Australian Defence Security Clearance.
  • Military Aircraft Maintenance License (MAML) on applicable type.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake maintenance and certification within scope of authorisation.
  • Ensure aircraft are airworthy per aviation standards.
  • Endorse maintenance and GA tasking in the aircraft records system.
  • Support Maintenance Managers with maintenance duties.
  • Provide task sign-off and certification within authorisation scope.
  • Coach and supervise on-the-job training for the team.

About The Role

Rotor Ready? Join Our Black Hawk Maintenance Crew! We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused aircraft maintenance engineer. You will undertake maintenance and certification within scope of authorisation. You will be responsible for ensuring aircraft are airworthy in accordance with prescribed aviation standards, and be responsible for the work you perform and required to endorse all maintenance and General Aviation Tasking (if required) completed in the aircraft continuing airworthiness record system and supporting Maintenance Managers in the execution of maintenance and aviation related duties by providing Task Sign-off and Certification of Maintenance within the scope of your authorisation.


Your Responsibilities Will Include


  • Platform specific safety familiarisation course (or equivalent)

  • Competence assessment on the task being authorised

  • System or component specific courses for component level maintenance

  • An understanding of Plan, Brief, Execute, Debrief (PBED) principles

  • Demonstrated understanding of WH&S requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the effects of Human Factors in Maintenance

  • Providing coaching and mentoring in support of OJT progression and technical supervision of a team


Essential Requirements


  • Tertiary qualifications (Certificate IV or above) in a relevant discipline – Aeroskills – Mechanical, from a recognised institution

  • Appropriate aircraft trade qualifications (e.g. trade papers, apprenticeship, indentures etc.)

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the requirements of DASRs

  • Ability to work rotating roster

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Defence Security Clearance

  • Military Aircraft Maintenance License (MAML) on applicable type

  • Meets authorisation requirements under 16 Avn Bde DASR 145 MOE
