Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia invites applications for an Aircraft Life Support Fitter/AME at our Holsworthy, NSW location. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge UH-60M ALSE systems and contribute to high‑reliability airworthiness in a blended ADF and contractor team.

As an AME Independent Inspector Level 4, you will ensure aircraft and ALSE components are airworthy, endorse maintenance tasks, and participate in competence assessments and training to support mission success.

Qualifications

• Completion of platform safety familiarisation courses.
• System- or component-specific maintenance courses completed.
• Competence assessment on authorized tasks.
• Appropriate aircraft trade qualifications (e.g., trade papers, apprenticeship).

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive maintenance and support for ALSE and test/calibration of equipment.
• Supervise and plan tasks for a mixed ADF and contractor team.
• Capture errors for ALSE as required.
• Evaluate on-hand spares and consumables and manage inventory.
• Ensure maintenance complies with approved data and instructions.
• Adhere to EH&S requirements for applicable work.
• Undertake secondary duties within training and authorisations.

About The Role

Join Our Elite UH-60M Black Hawk Team! We are excited to invite applications for an Aircraft Life Support Fitter position as a UH-60M Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at our Holsworthy, NSW location. This role is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and a dedicated team.

• Engage in a wide range of maintenance and support tasks for the UH-60M Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE), ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Supervise and plan tasks for a blended team of ADF and contractor personnel, enhancing your leadership and project management skills.
• Play a crucial role in maintaining the airworthiness of aircraft and ALSE components, directly contributing to mission success.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Maintenance: Perform full-spectrum maintenance and support tasks for ALSE and test/calibration of support equipment.
• Task Supervision: Provide supervision, planning, and control for a team of ADF and contractor personnel.
• Error Capture: Ensure error capture for ALSE where required.
• Inventory Management: Evaluate and maintain on‑hand spares and consumables.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct all maintenance in accordance with approved data and operational instructions.
• EH&S Compliance: Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
• Additional Duties: Undertake secondary activities within the bounds of training and authorisations as directed.

About You

As an AME Independent Inspector Level 4, you will ensure aircraft and associated ALSE components are airworthy in accordance with prescribed aviation standards. You will be responsible for the work you perform and required to endorse all maintenance and General Maintenance Tasks (GAT) completed in the aircraft continuing airworthiness record system.

Essential Requirements

• Completion of platform‑specific safety familiarisation courses.
• System or component‑specific courses for maintenance.
• Competence assessment on authorized tasks.
• Appropriate aircraft trade qualifications (e.g., trade papers, apprenticeship).

Desirable

• Relevant experience assessed for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Special Requirements

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
