Job summary

TAE Aerospace is seeking highly motivated Aircraft Engine Maintenance Technicians for our Turbine Engine Maintenance Facility in Bundamba, Ipswich. You will work on the F414, F135, and related engines, performing heavy maintenance, inspections and documentation tasks to keep critical defence and commercial platforms flying.

Successful applicants may be required to meet security clearances and pass background checks as part of our safety and compliance culture.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of strip, detailed inspection and assembly of gas turbine engines.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to maintain documentation of work in progress and maintenance worksheets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy engine maintenance including strip, detailed inspection and assembly.
  • Ensure maintenance activities follow approved publications, data and work instructions.
  • Maintain documentation of work in progress and maintenance records.
  • Conduct maintenance supervisory/inspection duties per aviation regulators.
  • Continuously seek improvements in efficiency and safety.

Job Description
The Role

We are looking for highly motivated Aircraft Engine Maintenance Technicians to support the most exciting engine platforms in the defence sector, – the legendary F/A 18 Super Hornet’s F414 engine, the F135 engine that powers the most advanced fifth-generation fighter in the world – the F35 Lightning II, and the M1 Abrams AGT1500 Tank engine. All programs located at our purpose-built Turbine Engine Maintenance Facility in Bundamba, Ipswich.

  • Performing heavy engine maintenance activities including strip, detailed inspection, and assembly
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with approved publications, technical data, and work instructions
  • Maintaining documentation of work in progress
  • Performing maintenance supervisory/inspection duties as specified by aviation regulators
  • Continually looking for way to improve in efficiency and effectiveness
  • Taking all reasonable steps to ensure own safety and the safety of others
