Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a Maintenance Operations Manager to lead the PMI team at RAAF Base Amberley, supporting the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler programs. You will guide frontline maintenance, ensure safety and quality, and collaborate with planning, engineering and supply chain to meet schedules and resource needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in aircraft maintenance management or frontline supervision.
• Background in Defence, aviation, or civil MRO environments.
• Understanding of regulatory and quality frameworks such as DASR Part 145, AS9110, CASA.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to maintain safety, quality and continuous improvement.

In this role you will:

• Lead a multidisciplinary maintenance team delivering scheduled and emergent PMI activities
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency
• Support technicians and engineers through coaching, mentoring, and clear direction
• Work closely with production planning, engineering, and supply chain teams to meet schedule and resource requirements
• Drive first-time quality, continuous improvement, and process standardisation
• Build strong working relationships with customer stakeholders and internal teams
• Help create a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture

About You:

• Experience in aircraft maintenance management, production leadership, or team supervision
• Background in Defence, aviation, or civil MRO environments
• Understanding of regulatory and quality frameworks such asDASR Part 145,AS9110,CASA, or equivalent
• Strong people leadership skills with the ability to manage performance and priorities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A practical, proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Familiarity with the maintenance schedule of the Super Hornet/Growler platform would be highly regarded
• The ability to obtain and maintain anAustralian Defence Security Clearance (NV1)

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
