Job summary

TAE Aerospace in Bundamba, Ipswich, is seeking highly motivated Aircraft Engine Maintenance Technicians to support the F/A-18 Super Hornet F414 engine, the F135 engine, and the M1 Abrams AGT1500 tank engine, all from our purpose-built Turbine Engine Maintenance Facility in Bundamba, Ipswich.

You will perform heavy engine maintenance, ensure activities comply with technical data and publications, and maintain thorough documentation of work in progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience stripping, inspecting and assembling gas turbine engines.
  • Experience with airworthiness rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to document work in progress and maintain maintenance worksheets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Passion and drive to keep customers flying.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy engine maintenance including strip, detailed inspection and assembly.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with approved publications, technical data and work instructions.
  • Maintain documentation of work in progress.
  • Perform maintenance supervisory/inspection duties as specified by aviation regulators.
  • Continually look for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure own safety and the safety of others.

Job description

We are looking for highly motivated Aircraft Engine Maintenance Technicians to support the most exciting engine platforms in the defence sector, – the legendary F/A 18 Super Hornet’s F414 engine, the F135 engine that powers the most advanced fifth-generation fighter in the world – the F35 Lightning II, and the M1 Abrams AGT1500 Tank engine. All programs located at our purpose-built Turbine Engine Maintenance Facility in Bundamba, Ipswich.

  • Performing heavy engine maintenance activities including strip, detailed inspection, and assembly
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with approved publications, technical data, and work instructions
  • Maintaining documentation of work in progress
  • Performing maintenance supervisory/inspection duties as specified by aviation regulators
  • Continually looking for way to improve in efficiency and effectiveness
  • Taking all reasonable steps to ensure own safety and the safety of others

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrable knowledge of strip, detailed inspection and assembly of the gas turbine engine
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience working within airworthiness rules and regulatory requirements
  • The ability to maintain documentation of work in progress and composition of maintenance worksheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to meet regulatory requirements
  • A passion and drive to deliver to keep their customers flying
