Job summary

Equal Energy Solutions is seeking a qualified Refrigeration and Air‑Conditioning Technician for Canberra. The role involves attending daily service, maintenance and breakdown jobs, diagnosing faults, and completing repairs, replacements and installations on split and ducted systems.

You will work on commercial fit-outs and refurbishment projects, install ductwork and coordinate with builders and other trades while providing preventative maintenance and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technician.
• Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
• Relevant ACT trade licence.
• Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily service, maintenance and breakdown jobs.
• Diagnose faults across split and ducted air‑conditioning systems.
• Complete repairs, replacements and new installations.
• Work on commercial fit-outs and refurbishment projects.
• Install and modify ductwork, pipework, grilles and air‑conditioning equipment.
• Coordinate with builders, electricians and other trades.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and system servicing.
• Provide quotes and onsite practical solutions.
• Document job notes and photos accurately.

What This Role Looks Like

You’ll be:

• Attending daily service, maintenance and breakdown jobs
• Diagnosing faults across split and ducted air-conditioning systems
• Completing repairs, replacements and new installations
• Working on commercial fit-outs and refurbishment projects
• Installing and modifying ductwork, pipework, grilles and air-conditioning equipment
• Coordinating with builders, electricians and other trades
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and system servicing
• Working directly with homeowners, property managers, builders and business owners
• Recommending and quoting practical solutions onsite
• Completing accurate job notes, photos and documentation
• Moving between jobs throughout the day

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technician
• Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Relevant ACT trade licence
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Experience servicing and repairing split and ducted systems
• Experience with commercial fit-outs and installations
• Ability to read plans and coordinate with other trades
• Confident in customer-facing situations
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions
• Well presented and professional
• Organised and efficient
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Current Australian driver's licence

Experience with electrical fault-finding, controls or commercial HVAC systems will be highly regarded.
