Aufgaben

• Assemble, install, maintain, service and repair air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Read technical drawings and specifications and establish installation points.
• Drill holes, install mounting brackets and pipework.
• Install and repair components including compressors, motors and gauges.
• Connect pipes and equipment using appropriate methods.
• Charge systems with refrigerant and test for leaks.
• Test and adjust systems for proper performance.
• Evacuate and recharge systems.
• Inspect and diagnose faults in systems.

Task & responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, service and repair industrial, commercial and domestic air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Read technical drawings and specifications and establish installation reference points.
• Drill holes, install mounting brackets, and cut, bend and thread piping.
• Install and repair compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges and copper piping.
• Connect pipes and equipment using bolting, soldering, riveting, welding and brazing techniques.
• Charge systems with gas or fluid and conduct pressure and leak tests.
• Test, operate and adjust refrigeration and air-conditioning systems for proper performance.
• Evacuate systems using vacuum pumps and recharge with refrigerant.
• Inspect, overhaul and diagnose faults in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Repair or replace defective components, adjust controls and reassemble systems after servicing.
• Record system faults, causes, repairs and corrective actions in accordance with safety requirements and applicable standards.

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate III or higher education in relevant field
• A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
• The right to work in Australia
