Responsibilities

• Analyze detailed technical drawings and specifications for air-conditioning and electrical systems.
• Plan installation layouts by marking reference points for air-conditioning systems and electrical connections.
• Install and maintain motors, condensers, evaporators, switches and control panels.
• Connect mechanical and electrical equipment by bolting, soldering, riveting, welding or brazing pipes.
• Test and calibrate air-conditioning and electrical systems for optimal performance.
• Diagnose faults in air-conditioning and electrical systems and document actions.

Position Overview: The Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic is a full-time position responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing air-conditioning and refrigeration systems to ensure their safe, reliable and efficient operation. The Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic must be able to interpret technical drawings and manufacturer’s specifications, use appropriate diagnostic equipment, and handle refrigerants in accordance with applicable safety and environmental requirements. The position also requires effective communication with customers regarding system faults, servicing requirements and suitable repair solutions.

The role will contribute to the efficient daily operation of the business by maintaining high standards of workmanship, completing assigned work within appropriate timeframes and supporting the company’s commitment to safety, reliability and customer satisfaction. The employee is required to work at various client’s premises in greater Brisbane area. Tasks & responsibilities:

• Responsible for analyzing detailed technical drawings and specifications for air-conditioning and electrical systems to establish job requirements.
• Planning installation layouts by marking reference points for air-conditioning systems, ensuring seamless alignment with electrical connections and overall system integration.
• Preparing installation sites by drilling penetration holes, installing mounting brackets, and preparing surfaces for equipment placement.
• Cutting, bending, and threading piping for air and electrical conduit installations.
• Responsible for drilling holes, installing mounting brackets, and cutting, bending, and threading piping as part of installation preparation.
• Installing and maintaining critical components such as motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, and electrical control panels.
• Connecting mechanical and electrical equipment by bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, or brazing pipes.
• Verifying alignment, accuracy, and proper connections between air-conditioning and electrical systems.
• Ensuring compatibility with electrical wiring and connections.
• Testing and operating air-conditioning and electrical systems, checking mechanisms, and calibrating controls for optimal performance.
• Responsible for diagnosing faults in air-conditioning and electrical systems.
• Repairing or replacing defective components and documenting issues.
• Adjusting system controls, recalibrating mechanisms, and reassembling air-conditioning units with integrated electrical systems.
• Maintaining records by logging malfunctions, repair actions, and outcomes to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills:

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, manufacturer specifications and service manuals.

-Sound understanding of workplace safety, refrigerant-handling requirements and applicable industry standards.

• Ability to stay current with advances in air-conditioning and refrigeration technology and adapt to new systems, equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Effective Communication Skills.

Benefits & Remuneration:

• Salary commensurate with experience.

$85,000 to $95,000 plus guaranteed superannuation.
