Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Air Transport Coordinator (Fixed Term) to manage air freight and LCL shipments from Sydney or Melbourne. The role covers coordination with approved transport providers, minimizing storage costs and reducing cargo loss or damage.

This is a 12-month parental leave cover. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time deliveries, strong customer communication and adherence to regulatory requirements. A dynamic, international environment awaits with Maersk.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in air freight import and export operations.
• Experience with LCL import/export operations is advantageous.
• CW1 experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the transportation of LCL and air freight imports and exports in Sydney and Brisbane, with backup support for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
• Check and monitor the customs clearance status of all shipments.
• Coordinate carrier payments and the release of delivery orders.
• Manage cartage providers daily to ensure adherence to service levels and KPIs.
• Liaise with internal departments to support effective shipment coordination and delivery.
• Communicate with customers regarding delivery requirements and provide timely shipment updates.
• Monitor and action ICS and biosecurity holds, arranging inspections when required.
