Job summary

Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) in Canberra is seeking an Assistant Director - Delivery Lead within the Innovation and AI Transformation directorate. You will support adoption and delivery of AI and innovation priorities, coordinate governance reporting, and work with stakeholders across the department to identify and deliver AI use cases.

You will participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to capability uplift, and help shape responsible AI adoption while briefing

Qualifications

• Experience supporting planning, coordination and delivery of AI or innovation projects.
• Ability to work with policy and technical colleagues to develop AI tools and services.
• Experience coordinating governance reporting, briefings and dashboard updates.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of AI and innovation projects and initiatives
• Contribute to development and improvement of AI tools, products, and services with technical and policy colleagues
• Prepare and coordinate governance reporting, including briefings, dashboard updates, and committee papers for senior leadership
• Coordinate stakeholder meetings, agendas, minutes and action tracking
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, backlog refinement
• Support development of department-wide AI adoption strategies and capability uplift programs
• Promote responsible AI adoption, continuous learning and ethical practice within the team
• Provide clear and timely advice on AI delivery risks, progress and emerging issues to senior leaders
• Represent the Director at meetings as required
