Job summary

Australian Payments Plus (AP+) is seeking an AI & Third-Party Assurance Manager to join Group Risk. You’ll provide governance and assurance across AI and external supplier risks, shaping controls and risk-based reviews.

You’ll collaborate across the business to identify risks, deliver practical remediation, and build reporting to show assurance outcomes. The role blends emerging tech, responsible AI, and strategic risk management in a fast-paced payments environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in risk, assurance, controls or audit across technology and third-party/supplier arrangements.
• Exposure to AI risk and responsible AI concepts with ability to translate risks into practical recommendations.
• Strong methodologies in evidence-based control assessment and audit practices.
• Experience conducting formal assessments, analyzing evidence, and producing clear findings and reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor AI and Third-Party Risk Management frameworks and report on performance.
• Plan and conduct risk-based assessments across AI activities and supplier arrangements.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
• Conduct AI assessments ensuring ethical considerations are included in risk decisions.
• Perform quality assurance reviews and risk-based audits with documented evidence.
• Monitor supplier performance, security requirements and contractual performance.
• Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve assurance findings and issues.
• Provide specialist advice across AI and third-party risk to cross-functional teams.
• Develop reporting and measures to track assurance outcomes and remediation.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate risk insights to drive action to closure.
