Job summary

Commonwealth Bank seeks a Senior Manager, Artificial Intelligence Technology Risk to lead Line 2 risk oversight for AI platforms and cyber/data risk controls. You will provide independent risk advice to the CAIO and CTO, influence risk decisions and strengthen control frameworks across AI initiatives in a large financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in technology, cyber, data or AI risk management in a large environment.
• Strong knowledge of generative AI and agentic systems.
• Experience leading risk-in-change assessments and control assurance activities.
• Industry certifications in cyber, cloud, tech risk or AI are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead specialist, independent AI technology risk advice and challenge to teams within CTO and CAIO.
• Own and coordinate Line 2 oversight for assigned AI technology portfolio.
• Assess risks with generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation and LLM-based apps.
• Form clear Line 2 risk opinions and recommendations for remediation or escalation.
• Shape delivery of risk-based oversight and assurance activities across AI initiatives.
• Oversee risk reporting across three lines of accountability and risk frameworks.
• Lead identification and reporting of material tech, cyber and compliance matters to stakeholders.
• Prepare concise governance material translating technical issues into risk implications.
• Drive uplift of risk frameworks, standards and reporting with external developments.
• Coordinate with Line 2 and Line 1 risk teams for integrated coverage.

Education

Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or Cyber Security
