Job description

Company Description
Nine is Australia's largest locally owned media company. Working at Nine, you'll have access to a unique range of experiences and opportunities, helping drive the success of the country's most trusted television, radio, digital and publishing brands.
Our content reaches almost every Australian - meaning what we do has real impact. We bring people together, celebrate the big moments, and capture the everyday ones.
Some of our most beloved brands have been part of Australian life for generations, and others - new on the scene - have already found their place firmly in our lives. We're evolving and we need people like you to bring new ideas, innovate and make your mark.

Join Nine's dynamic AI team and contribute to the transformation of Australia's media landscape. Our team plays a key role in driving top-line value creation by developing and implementing high-impact, domain-specific custom AI products across Nine's portfolio.

As AI Product Manager, Custom Solutions, you will partner closely with data scientists, engineers and commercial stakeholders to translate complex business needs and AI capabilities into intuitive product features that deliver business ROI and exceptional value to our audiences, advertisers, and internal teams.

What You'll Do
  • Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle of bespoke AI solutions, from discovery and rapid prototyping through to production launch and iteration.
  • Map business workflows and end-to-end value chains to identify high-impact opportunities for custom AI integration.
  • Translate capabilities-including Agentic AI (single/multi-agent orchestration), Generative AI (LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering), and ML-into technical specifications and PRDs.
  • Maintain and prioritise the custom AI product roadmap based on ROI, technical feasibility, and business impact.
  • Conduct technical feasibility analyses and risk assessments for proposed custom AI applications prior to engineering investment.
  • Establish testing frameworks, lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and execute feedback loops to validate tools pre- and post-deployment.
  • Track, analyse, and report on product performance metrics to quantify business ROI and direct iterative enhancements.
  • Ensure all custom AI applications adhere to Responsible AI guidelines, ethical standards, and data privacy regulations.
What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in product management with a demonstrated focus on AI or machine learning products.
  • Background in business analysis with demonstrated skills in technical writing and business process mapping.
  • Working knowledge of and hands‑on experience with modern AI tooling and architectures, including Generative AI, RAG, and multi-agent frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse ecosystems (specifically Google Cloud Platform / GCP), data ingestion, and data engineering pipelines as critical precursors to custom AI development.
  • Clear architectural judgment regarding where and when to deploy deterministic engineering versus probabilistic AI capabilities based on performance, precision, and business risk.
  • A practical, hands‑on approach to embedding AI tools into daily workflows, paired with a sharp eye for quality control to ensure outputs meet high standards.
  • Demonstrated experience taking custom or business‑unit‑facing products through the complete Product Development Lifecycle using Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, data privacy regulations, and ethical AI deployment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience evaluating technical feasibility, risk, and product ROI.
  • Experience translating technical data science concepts for non‑technical commercial stakeholders.
