Job summary

Motion Recruitment represents a client seeking a Senior AI & Platform Engineer to drive the design of a future-state, AI-enabled cloud platform. You will lead architectural decisions while staying hands-on in code, delivering scalable Azure-based solutions and integrating AI capabilities into daily operations.

You will collaborate with the Head of Engineering, focus on decoupling legacy systems, and implement modern open AI workflows with strong emphasis on CI/CD, DevOps, and secure SDLC.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Stack Mastery including .NET, Azure Cloud Native architecture, API design and integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience building or integrating AI solutions (Azure OpenAI, Agentic frameworks, Copilot, or automated AI workflows).
• Experience decoupling monolithic/legacy systems into modern, scalable architectures.
• Strong communication and ability to document technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Modernisation: Lead design and delivery of Azure cloud-native solutions, API strategies, and legacy decoupling initiatives.
• AI & Agentic Engineering: Architect and implement Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, and custom Agentic AI frameworks using .NET, with Computer Vision and workflow automation.

Job description

Our client is embarking on a multi-year, end-to-end technology transformation. They are seeking a Senior AI & Platform Engineer to serve as the technical authority driving the design and delivery of their future-state platform.

This is a 100% greenfield initiative with zero BAU, focused on decoupling legacy applications and engineering a modern, AI-enabled cloud ecosystem. Working alongside the Head of Engineering, you will lead the technical architecture while remaining deeply hands-on in the code, designing scalable solutions, and embedding cutting-edge AI capabilities into day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Modernisation (40%): Lead the design and delivery of Azure cloud-native solutions, API strategies, and legacy decoupling initiatives.
• AI & Agentic Engineering (40%): Architect and implement Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, and custom Agentic AI frameworks using .NET, along with Computer Vision and workflow automation.
• Engineering Excellence (20%): Drive best practices across .NET development, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Secure SDLC while providing light technical coaching and code reviews for the team.

What We Are Looking For
