Job summary

iterate is modernising a high-traffic platform with AI-assisted engineering embedded into the workflow. You’ll be a senior voice on a small team, driving legacy systems migration to cloud and shaping engineering standards. AI tools like Claude Code will be used to accelerate delivery while enforcing quality controls.

You’ll work across backend services, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and observability, influencing architectural decisions rather than just executing scripts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands on backend development in .NET, strong C# and SQL Server fundamentals.
• Experience modernising legacy systems and working with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Comfortable building and securing REST APIs, including integrations with third party systems.
• Frontend capability, ideally Next.js.
• Real, practical experience working with AI coding assistants, with the judgement to verify what they produce.
• Someone with strong opinions built from experience, who holds them loosely and works well with a team.

A well established brand, with a digital platform that's seen a three-fold jump in traffic and revenue over the past three years. They've recently brought their product development capability in-house to keep pace with that growth, and are investing seriously in modernising the engineering behind it. About the role

You'll be a senior voice on a small, close knit engineering team, working across a mix of legacy modernisation and new platform build. Expect to be migrating services off older infrastructure onto modern cloud architecture, while helping shape the standards the rest of the team works to. AI assisted development, using tools like Claude Code, is a genuine part of how this team ships, not a bolt on, and you'll help set the bar for using it well: accelerating delivery while knowing exactly what needs scrutiny before it goes live. You'll get exposure to the full spectrum, backend services, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and observability, with plenty of room to influence architecture decisions rather than just execute someone else's.
