Job summary

Ignite is recruiting an experienced Data Analyst/Data Engineer to support AI and ML initiatives in a Federal Government environment in Melbourne. The role emphasizes data preparation, model support, governance, and collaboration with data scientists and business stakeholders.

Onsite four days per week in Clayton, Victoria, with NV1 clearance and Australian citizenship requirements. Initial 9-month contract with potential extension of up to 12 months, to deliver AI-driven insights and robust data

Qualifications

Experience supporting AI/ML initiatives in government or large organisations.
Strong SQL, data wrangling, and data quality management.
Experience with structured and unstructured data.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Collect, cleanse, and prepare structured and unstructured data for analytics and ML initiatives.
Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends for AI-driven outcomes.
Develop and maintain datasets, features, and data pipelines for ML models.
Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and business stakeholders on AI/ML use cases.
Assess data quality, integrity, and suitability for ML applications.
Support development, testing, and validation of predictive and classification models.
Monitor model performance and provide analytical insights for improvement.
Automate reporting and analytics workflows to improve efficiency.
Document data models and AI/ML solutions for governance and compliance.
Research emerging AI/ML technologies to identify opportunities for innovation.
