Job summary

The GigG'day AI Initiative seeks a skilled AI Cloud Engineer (APS6 equivalent) to join Australia’s largest federal agency. You will design, deploy and operate AI/ML platforms across on‑prem, public cloud and hybrid environments, including Kubernetes, MLOps pipelines, LLMs and IaC.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship is required and baseline security clearance is mandatory.
• 5+ years hands-on AI/ML engineering across greenfield and brownfield environments.
• Experience with on-premises, public cloud, and hybrid platforms including Kubernetes, MLOps, LLMs, IaC, DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and operate AI/ML environments across multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Cyber Security, Architecture and Core Data teams.
• Deliver compliant, secure solutions in a regulated government setting.
• Operate with autonomy and drive innovation within a hybrid office model.
