Job summary

Ignite is recruiting an experienced Data Analyst/Data Engineer to support AI and ML initiatives in a Federal Government environment in Melbourne. The role emphasizes data preparation, model support, governance, and collaboration with data scientists and business stakeholders.

Onsite four days per week in Clayton, Victoria, with NV1 clearance and Australian citizenship requirements. Initial 9-month contract with potential extension of up to 12 months, to deliver AI-driven insights and robust data

Qualifications

• Assess data quality, integrity, and suitability for ML applications.
• Support development, testing, and validation of predictive and classification models.

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst/ Data Engineer to support the delivery of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives within a Federal Government environment.

This role will be responsible for leveraging data analytics techniques to support the design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI and ML solutions. You will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights and contribute to the full AI/ML lifecycle.

Please note: This role requires attendance onsite in Clayton, Victoria four days per week. Candidates who are unable to meet this requirement will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst supporting advanced analytics, AI, or machine learning initiatives.
• Strong skills in data analysis, data preparation, and data quality management.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.
• Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation techniques.
• Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines and reporting solutions.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts, model validation, and performance monitoring.
• Ability to translate business requirements into data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong documentation and governance experience within complex environments.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams is highly desirable.
