Job summary

FinXL Professional Services Pty is seeking a Senior AI Engineer/Developer to deliver complex application development across cutting-edge tech and digital platforms in Australia. You will design, implement, and optimize environments for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid setups with secure-by-design patterns and IaC.

You will lead AI platform delivery, collaborate with Data Scientists and Security teams, and mentor internal staff while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance across environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as an AI Engineer across on-premise, public cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Strong background in AI/ML and Generative AI tooling (MLOps, Hugging Face, RAG, vector databases).
• Proven Python scripting skills for automation and API integration.
• DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC using GitLab/GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, GitOps/Argo CD.
• Containers and Platform Engineering (Docker/Podman) with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Must currently hold or be capable of obtaining a Baseline Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for AI/ML and Generative AI services.
• Lead end-to-end implementation across on-premise, public cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory frameworks via DevSecOps.
• Resolve complex technical issues and provide architectural guidance to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Cyber Security, and Core Data teams and mentor internal staff.

• Location: Brisbane QLD, Perth WA, Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC, Sydney NSW, and Adelaide
• 12 months contract + 2 X 12 months extension options
• Must be Australian Citizen and able to obtain a Baseline security clearance.

FinXL is looking for an experience Senior AI Engineer / Developer to play a pivotal role in delivering complex application development projects across cutting-edge technology and digital platforms. you will specialize in either on-premise cloud-native or public cloud platform tooling, with the capability to design, implement, and optimize environments for both greenfield (new) implementations and brownfield (existing) setups. You will focus on building secure-by-design architectures, incorporating reusable patterns and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deliver scalable, compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI services.
• Lead the end-to-end implementation, configuration, and optimization of enterprise AI solutions across on-premise, public cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Ensure all AI platforms comply with organizational security, governance, and regulatory frameworks through DevSecOps and secure-by-design principles.
• Resolve highly complex technical issues, provide architectural guidance, and articulate technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Cyber Security, and Core Data teams to establish foundational capabilities while providing mentorship and best practice guidance to internal teams.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience working as an AI Engineer across on-premise, public cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Strong background in AI/ML and Generative AI tooling (MLOps, Hugging Face, RAG, vector databases), driven by proven Python scripting skills for automation and API integration.
• High proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code using tools like GitLab/GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps/Argo CD.
• Deep foundation in Containers and Platform Engineering (Docker/Podman, container security) with practical experience across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and S3-compatible object storage.
• Must currently hold or be capable of obtaining a Baseline Security Clearance.
