Thomson Reuters is seeking a Software Engineer, Legal Prompter to build innovative LLM-powered experiences for the legal sector. You will craft prompts, write Python code, and integrate models with APIs and data sources while collaborating with legal professionals and cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of production software experience, strong English, and a passion for AI, law, and problem-solving in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Australian legal market
• Excellent written and spoken English required
• 1–2 years production-level software engineering experience
• Strong Python skills or equivalent programming language
• Familiarity with APIs and SQL is a plus
• Analytical problem-solving and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to write clear, contextual prompts for LLMs

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate LLM-driven experiences that delight customers.
• Develop Python code that interacts with state-of-the-art LLMs.
• Write, test and iterate prompts leveraging legal domain knowledge.
• Develop Python code that interfaces with data sources & APIs/SQL databases.
• Liaise with legal professionals and Thomson Reuters teams to gather requirements.
• Integrate language models into multi-step systems and monitor performance.
