Job summary

Wolf & Williams is seeking an EL1-equivalent Legal Officer (ICT & AI) for a part-time role within a government-aligned legal team in Canberra. You will provide expert advice on AI adoption, digital governance, and regulatory frameworks across diverse functions.

You will conduct legal research, prepare written opinions, and engage with internal stakeholders to support AI initiatives and digital law matters, including automated decision-making considerations.

Qualifications

• EL1-equivalent lawyer with at least 3 years' post-admission experience.
• Experience in ICT, technology, digital or related legal practice areas.
• Experience advising on AI-related matters will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Advising on the adoption and deployment of AI-enabled technologies and digital initiatives.
• Providing legal advice on technology, digital governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Supporting the development and implementation of AI governance and responsible use policies.
• Conducting legal research and preparing written advice for senior stakeholders.
• Advising on administrative law and automated decision‑making considerations where relevant.
• Working closely with business units across operational, scientific and corporate functions.
