Job summary

Talent Insights Group in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing data team and deliver data solutions that support commercial and product requirements. The initial contract will run for 9 months through to the end of FY27, with an immediate project need and a target start before or around 19 October 2026.

You’ll work across data engineering, analytics and modelling to evolve data capabilities and deliver solutions for a range of business requirements.

Qualifications

• Solid mid-level data engineering experience in a modern data environment.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses/platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks).
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Pragmatic engineering approach balancing robustness and simplicity.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve dbt models and data pipelines to support business requirements.
• Develop and maintain data models across a modern cloud data environment.
• Evolve Looker models and Explores where applicable.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Help define data engineering and data lifecycle standards.
• Support semantic layers and consistent business metrics.
• Work with analytics, product and engineering teams to deliver trusted data.
• Contribute to conversational analytics and AI-enabled workflows.
