Job summary

Nine Entertainment Co. Pty Ltd is seeking a Technical Lead to architect and deliver a new suite of AI-powered products, combining leadership with hands-on full-stack engineering.

You will design scalable, secure cloud-native systems and data pipelines while mentoring engineers and aligning with cross-team stakeholders. You'll drive technical roadmaps, define standards, and oversee integrations and incident readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Experience architecting and delivering high-volume, large-scale systems within enterprise compliance and security frameworks.
• Hands-on proficiency with Go, JavaScript, React, Python, and Bash.
• Deep familiarity with AWS and/or GCP services across compute, storage, networking and security.
• Expertise in Terraform and automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of networking and monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Collaborative skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end solution design and contribute as hands-on full-stack engineer.
• Design, develop, and maintain secure, high-availability apps; support cloud-native infra and data pipelines.
• Establish modern engineering practices; standardise CI/CD and IaC; mentor engineers.
• Oversee maintenance; escalation point; lead technical engagements and data integrations.
• Lead cross-team technical collaborations and influence stakeholders across the organisation.
• Drive project planning and technical roadmaps; manage Jira workflows.
• Communicate architectural trade-offs and technical visions across the organisation.
• Architect clear documentation standards and coordinate on-call rotations for reliability.
