Qualifications

• 2–8+ years' experience in trade surveillance, market surveillance or a related surveillance role within financial markets.
• Strong understanding of trading activity and market conduct.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Experience working with large datasets and trading/market data.
• SQL, Python or other coding experience highly desirable.
• Experience with automation, reporting or process improvement is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to improving surveillance processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trade and market surveillance, investigating unusual trading activity and potential market conduct risks.
• Analyse large datasets and market data to identify patterns, anomalies and emerging risks.
• Build and automate surveillance processes, reporting and analytical tools.
• Work with data feeds to streamline and improve surveillance efficiency.
• Leverage AI, automation and technology to enhance surveillance capabilities.
• Develop and refine surveillance scenarios, controls and monitoring methodologies.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, Technology and Trading teams to continuously improve the surveillance framework.
