Job summary

JS Careers is seeking a surveillance data analyst to turn large, complex market datasets into actionable insights. You will investigate alerts end-to-end, reconstruct activity and assess risk using SQL, Python and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Investigate surveillance alerts end-to-end: reconstruct order/trade activity, review related communications, identify risk factors and what happened.
• Analyse large market and trade datasets using SQL and Python to detect unusual trading patterns and assess risk.
• Build and automate detection logic, tooling and data pipelines, including AI-driven systems, to make surveillance faster and more scalable.
• Leverage AI workflows to surface risk and help design/refine surveillance systems.
• Design and test controls to detect and prevent market abuse and measure their effectiveness.
• Contribute to the compliance monitoring and surveillance framework and its ongoing improvement.
• Review surveillance alerts and follow them up to resolution.
• Identify gaps in the surveillance framework and push improvements to mitigate major risks.
• Advise on and support the implementation of regulatory compliance requirements.
• Build strong cross-functional communication to enhance collaboration.
