Job summary

Mitti by SafetyCulture is hiring a Software Engineer II to join our Understand Group. You will design and build AI features end to end, spanning AI Assistant, agents and platform layers. You’ll prototype, test and ship in a greenfield space with strong R&D components.

You will work across backend and cloud services, using AWS, Golang, TypeScript and PostgreSQL, with a focus on scalable, user-centric systems in a hybrid work environment at our Sydney HQ.

Qualifications

Strong backend development experience with scalable systems.
Experience with Golang and modern frontend technologies is a plus.
Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud services.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL and data stores.

Responsibilities

Design and build AI features end to end, from problem to production.
Work across the AI product, including AI Assistant, agent experiences, and platform beneath them.
Take ideas from research to release, prototype, test and ship.
Own problems and trade-offs, not just tickets.
Design, build and maintain large-scale SaaS and cloud services.
Use AWS, Golang, Typescript, PostgreSQL and distributed systems.
Participate in code reviews and improve engineering practices.
Maintain a user-centric mindset to support better user experiences.
