Job summary

St Basil’s Homes NSW & ACT in Miranda is seeking an Aged Care Worker to provide person-centred care to residents. You will work with our nursing team to assist with daily living, personal care and mobility, tailored to individual needs, while upholding dignity and respect.

This role operates under the St Basil's NSW/ACT Enterprise Agreement 2024. We welcome dedicated team players who are passionate about improving the lives of older people and who understand dementia.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or in Aged Care.
• 12 months experience in residential aged care.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide quality care and exceptional service.
• Passion for enhancing the lives of older people and dementia awareness.
• Respectful approach and ability to work collaboratively or independently.
• Current First Aid & CPR.

About the Role

The Aged Care Worker role is central to our person-centred approach promise which ensures we aim to enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents.

Working collaboratively with our nursing team, the role is responsible for providing provide high-quality personal care to our clients based on their individual needs. This includes assisting them with daily life tasks, personal care and mobility. The needs and wishes of individual residents are met as a priority, and we deliver services and supports that ensure the health and wellbeing of our residents.

Our employees are employed under the St Basil's NSW/ACT Enterprise Agreement 2024. Our Aged Care Workers are employed under this EA as Personal Care Level 2 to 3 with an hourly rate between $32.86 to $34.59.

Essential Requirements of the Role

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or in Aged Care.

• Passion for enhancing the lives of older people and for working in aged care.
• An understanding of the needs of people living with dementia.
• Respectful approach that supports people based on their choices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as the confidence to work independently.
• Current First Aid & CPR
