Job summary

Mount Gravatt Community Centre Inc. is seeking an Aged Care Coordinator to lead our Support Worker team, coordinate day-to-day operations and ensure service quality.

You will supervise staff, provide direction, and support onboarding, training and development within a collaborative aged care setting. Reporting to the Services Aged Care Manager, you will work closely with nurses, schedulers and management to maintain service coverage, safety and compliance while fostering a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care, community services, or a related sector.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating, supervising or providing day to day leadership to staff or service teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to provide clear direction, listen effectively and adapt to different situations.
• Ability to address concerns about staff performance or workplace practices and follow through on actions.
• Balance empathy with accountability, consistency and sound decision-making.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands and respond to changing circumstances.
• Sound judgement and problem solving, including escalation when needed.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and supporting quality and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Support Workers, scheduling staff, Care Partners, Registered Nurses and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day leadership, supervision and practical guidance to Support Workers.
• Oversee onboarding, induction, training and development; support performance and workforce matters.
• Communicate expectations, give constructive feedback and follow through on actions.
• Coordinate with the Scheduler to manage workforce requirements, roster changes and scheduling support.
• Monitor attendance, timesheets, training and compliance; follow up on discrepancies.
• Resolve routine operational issues and escalate safety or client wellbeing concerns as needed.
• Contribute to quality checks, audits, incident/complaint follow-up and continuous improvement.
• Maintain workforce records and operational information across MGCCI systems.
• Coordinate resources, PPE, supplies, and fleet requirements with appropriate records.
• Identify recurring issues and escalate complex matters as needed.
