Full-time or part-time by negotiation | Mt Gravatt, Brisbane QLD
Reporting to the Services Aged Care Manager, you will play an important role in coordinating our day to day aged care operations and leading, supporting and developing our Support Worker team.
This is a hands on team leader role that combines staff supervision, workforce coordination and service quality. You will be a key point of contact for Support Workers, providing clear direction, practical guidance and constructive feedback while building a team culture where people feel supported, understand their responsibilities and take ownership of their work.
You will be organised, proactive and focused on getting things done, with the confidence to address concerns, reinforce policies and procedures, and ensure people are accountable for their responsibilities. You will also bring emotional intelligence and sound judgement, taking the time to understand what is happening, ask the right questions and respond fairly and constructively.
Working closely with the Scheduler, Care Partners, Registered Nurses and management, you will help ensure our staff are equipped to do their jobs well, client needs are responded to appropriately, and the processes that underpin safe, reliable and quality care are consistently followed.
Provide day to day leadership, supervision and practical guidance to Support Workers, fostering a positive, respectful and accountable team environment.
Support staff onboarding, induction, training and development, and work with the Services Aged Care Manager on performance, capability and workforce matters.
Communicate expectations clearly, provide constructive feedback, address workplace practice concerns and follow through on agreed actions.
Work closely with the Scheduler to coordinate workforce requirements, maintain service coverage and respond to roster changes, including providing scheduling support when required.
Monitor staff attendance, roster adherence, timesheets, mandatory training and workforce compliance, following up discrepancies and outstanding requirements.
Support safe and reliable service delivery by resolving routine operational issues, liaising with Care Partners and promptly escalating concerns about client wellbeing, safety or changing needs to the appropriate qualified staff member.
Contribute to quality checks, audits, incident and complaint follow-up, and continuous improvement activities, ensuring agreed actions are progressed.
Maintain accurate workforce records, registers, staff guidance materials and operational information across MGCCI systems.
Coordinate workforce resources, PPE, supplies and fleet requirements, including vehicle checks, maintenance follow-up and associated records.
Identify recurring workforce, service delivery and compliance issues, using sound judgement to resolve routine matters and escalating more complex issues appropriately.
You are a practical, approachable and people focused leader who understands that effective leadership means supporting people to succeed while also ensuring responsibilities are met and expectations are upheld.
You can build trust and positive working relationships while having the confidence to address difficult situations when needed. You listen, ask questions and consider the circumstances behind an issue, but you are also prepared to make decisions, provide clear direction and follow through when something needs to change.
You are organised and outcomes focused, able to manage competing demands, respond to unexpected changes and keep track of the details without losing sight of the people involved. You exercise sound judgement, understand the importance of working within established processes and know when an issue needs to be escalated.
You will bring:
Experience in aged care, community services, or a related sector, with an understanding of supporting older people in the community.
Demonstrated experience coordinating, supervising or providing day to day leadership to staff or service teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear direction, listen effectively, build trust and adapt your approach to different situations.

The ability to balance empathy and support with accountability, consistency and sound decision-making.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands, respond to changing circumstances and see tasks through to completion.
Sound judgement and a considered approach to problem solving, including recognising underlying issues, assessing risks and knowing when escalation is needed.
Experience maintaining accurate records, following policies and procedures, and supporting quality and compliance requirements.
The ability to work collaboratively with Support Workers, scheduling staff, Care Partners, Registered Nurses and other stakeholders.
A person centred approach that respects client dignity, privacy, choice and cultural diversity, with an understanding of trauma informed practice highly regarded.
