Job summary

ADA Australia is a respected not-for-profit organisation advocating for the rights, safety and wellbeing of older people and people with disability across Queensland. We are seeking an Aged Care Advocate to provide information, support and advocacy to older people accessing or seeking aged care services.

You will work with older people, families and service providers to ensure rights are upheld, resolve concerns and help navigate the aged care system.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in human services, social work, behavioural science, or equivalent
• Experience supporting older people and Indigenous communities
• Knowledge of aged care services and legislation
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Demonstrated cultural competency with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities
• Sound judgement and problem-solving abilities; ability to work independently
• Strong administrative and computer skills; experience with client management systems
• Valid Australian Driver Licence
• Current (≤3 years old) National Criminal History Certificate
