Job summary

ADACAS is seeking two Aged Care Advocates to join our Older Persons Team in Canberra. You will provide information, education and advocacy to older people navigating aged care services, working with clients and their representatives to understand rights and entitlements.

You will deliver rights-based education and build strong relationships with aged care providers and community organisations while maintaining accurate case records and contributing to systemic advocacy.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to human rights and person-centred practice.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills.
• Experience navigating aged care, disability, health or related services.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, support and individual advocacy to older people and their representatives.
• Assist clients to understand aged care services, rights, responsibilities and entitlements.
• Support clients to self-advocate and advocate on their behalf when required.
