Job summary

Hall & Prior Health & Aged Care Group is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to join our Lyneham 87-bed aged care home in Canberra. This permanent full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, and focuses on day-to-day maintenance, minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical work, and scheduled preventative tasks.

You will respond promptly to maintenance requests, tackle minor repairs, and escalate complex issues as needed, contributing to safe, comfortable, and well-presented homes for

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building, property, or facility maintenance, ideally in aged care.
• Hands-on, proactive, respectful with strong time management.
• Friendly, flexible and delivers excellent customer service.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Clearance and Influenza vaccination (or willing to obtain).
• Working rights in Australia and a valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day maintenance of our 87-bed aged care home in Lyneham.
• Perform minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance across buildings, equipment and grounds.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, handling minor repairs and escalation of complex issues.
