Job summary

Estia Health is seeking a dedicated kitchen assistant to prepare meals and beverages, clean and manage hygiene, and adapt menus with input from residents. You’ll support a team delivering high-quality, person-centered care in a busy aged care environment.

The role requires prior kitchen experience, a Basic Food Handling Course, and the ability to pass background checks. Influenza vaccination evidence is required during flu season.

Qualifications

• Real desire to make a difference in people’s lives.
• Experience in kitchen work (aged care is a bonus).
• Great time management and planning skills.
• Completed the Basic Food Handling Course.
• All shortlisted applicants will need to pass the required background checks.
• During the influenza season, all staff are required to provide evidence of a current influenza vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Prepping food and drinks.
• Cleaning (including dishes) and maintaining a sparkling workspace.
• Collaborating with team and residents to create meals.
• Keeping records as part of our Food Safety Program.
• Staying active on your feet for most of your shift.
