Job summary

Lactalis Australia is seeking an experienced Afternoon Shift DC Coordinator to lead the Lidcombe distribution centre team on the afternoon shift. You will drive safe, efficient order picking, dispatch and stock control while meeting schedule targets.

Reporting to the DC Manager, you will manage 10–20 staff, coach performance, and implement improvements in a fast-paced DC environment. A hands-on leader with strong safety and problem-solving skills is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years or more experience in logistics, distribution or warehousing.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop employees in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on leadership style and calm decision-making under changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Commitment to workplace safety, incident investigation, hazard identification and risk management.
• Experience with continuous improvement to warehouse processes and service outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP, WMS and RF scanning is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and engage the afternoon shift to meet safety, service, quality and productivity goals.
• Plan and coordinate daily warehouse activities including picking, staging, loading and dispatch.
• Ensure trucks are loaded safely and on schedule.
• Manage labour and resources to meet changing customer needs.
• Monitor stock movements and support inventory processes.
• Set clear expectations and provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Promote safety culture and ensure WHS compliance.
• Investigate hazards and incidents with root-cause analysis.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Support training and competency development of team members.
• Manage Material Handling Equipment requirements and promote safe use.
