Job summary

Village Roadshow Limited is seeking an Afterhours Security Officer at Sea World, Main Beach, Gold Coast. Part Time and Casual roles available, with hourly rates including day, night, and Sunday premiums.

You will patrol, control access, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents, and help keep guests and colleagues safe across our entertainment venues. Requirements include a current Unarmed Security License (with required modules), a Blue Card, RSA, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• A current Unarmed Security License (including Provide First Aid, Monitoring and Crowd Control modules).
• Blue Card is essential (cost noted in ad).
• RSA certificate required.
• Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
• Intermediate computer skills required.
• Availability to work any day, including nights, weekends and school holidays.
• Willingness to obtain Provide Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (assistance provided).

Responsibilities

• Patrol properties to ensure guest, team member and asset safety.
• Manage access control for visitors and contractors; gatehouse operations.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to security incidents as they arise.
• Assist Park Supervisors/Managers during incidents and emergencies.
• Ensure guest and staff safety and handle conflict calmly.
• Carry out after-hours lock-up patrols and incident response at the Resort.
• Monitor animal life support systems after hours and escalate concerns.
• Serve as the point of contact for Emergency Response Team during incidents.

$31.71 per Hour | $36.47 per hour Night Penalty (midnight to 6am) | $41.96 per hour Sunday Rates |Part Time
$39.64 per Hour | $45.59 per hour Night Penalty (midnight to 6am) | $48.95 per hour Sunday Rates |Casual

As an Afterhours Security Officer at Sea World, you’ll help create a safe and welcoming environment across our world-famous properties. You’ll be part of a team that ensures the safety and wellbeing of our guests, team members, and attractions, all while being surrounded by the energy and fun of the entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities

Every shift brings a new adventure behind the scenes! You’ll be:

• Stay Alert - Patrol our properties to ensure the safety of guests, team members and assets, including theme park lock-up patrols.
• Keep things moving - Manage access control for visitors and contractors, including gatehouse operations, issuing of keys to correct persons and vehicle checks.
• Eyes on security - Monitor CCTV from the Gatehouse and stay alert to activity across the property.
• Take charge - Respond to incidents and provide assistance to Park Supervisors and Managers as required.
• Keep everyone safe and happy - Ensure the safety of team members and guests and provide conflict resolution.
• Keep the Resort secure - When rostered at the Resort, carry out lock-up patrols, ensure guest safety and respond to incidents as required.
• Monitor critical systems - Monitor animal life support systems after hours and elevate any concerns to the Senior on duty.
• Be calm under pressure - Handle emergency procedures and act as the communication point for the Emergency Response Team.

What We’re Looking For

• A current Unarmed Security License (including Provide First Aid, Monitoring and Crowd Control modules)
• Blue Card is essential* (Please be advised that the cost of a Blue Card is currently $108.30)
• RSA certificate (essential)
• A current unrestricted Driver’s License
• Intermediate computer skills required
• Availability to work any day including nights, weekends and school holidays
• A willingness to obtain Provide Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (we’ll assist with booking and will cover the cost!)
