Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an Afterhours Clinical Nurse Educator at Auburn District Hospital to lead, coordinate and evaluate clinical education programs that support evidence-based practice and patient outcomes.

You will mentor nursing staff, design orientation and mandatory training, and collaborate with nursing leaders to strengthen clinical capability across after-hours services in a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and post registration qualification in the relevant speciality and nursing professional development/ education.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within the context of best practice clinical care and workplace culture
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery, coordination and evaluation of clinical education programs that support evidence-based practice, workforce capability and exceptional patient outcomes.
• Design, deliver and evaluate clinical education, orientation, onboarding and mandatory training programs.
• Mentor, coach and assess nursing staff to achieve and maintain clinical competency and professional development goals
• Facilitate bedside teaching and provide expert clinical support to promote best practice nursing care
• Partner with nursing leaders and multidisciplinary stakeholders to identify learning needs and implement targeted education initiatives
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, patient safety and workforce development projects that strengthen clinical outcomes
• Registration: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
