Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies in Australia is seeking a Manufacturing Technician - Mechanical in Yatala, QLD. You will contribute to the design, assembly and testing of rocket hardware, working within a state-of-the-art facility between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in aerospace or related industries, hands-on tooling skills, and a strong focus on quality and safety. This full-time role offers the chance to help build rockets locally and advance Australia’s space

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the Aerospace, Manufacturing, Marine or Automotive industry.
• NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, assemble, test, and integrate development and flight equipment and hardware
• Fabricate, repair, and assemble hardware/equipment needed
• Perform post-test operations and inspections to ensure flight worthy hardware
• Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometres, and callipers
• Hands on operations with both large and small fragile assemblies
• Operate and maintain hardware, high pressure systems and pumps, and other ancillary equipment including pneumatic components
• Evaluate engineering drawings, P&IDs and models, verifying dimensions and ensure implementation according to specifications
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency and cost
• Maintain effective working relationships with Engineering, Planning, Quality and Manufacturing teams
