Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies in Queensland is seeking a Manufacturing Technician - Avionics to join our state-of-the-art facility between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. You will assemble electronic/electrical systems, modify and install avionics, and support prototype builds with engineers.

This role requires 3+ years in high-reliability manufacturing, strong communication, and a passion for advancing Australia’s commercial space industry.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a high reliability manufacturing environment, preferably space/aerospace.
• Extensive knowledge of avionics and electrical systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management and organisational abilities.
• Passion for advancing Australia’s commercial space industry.

Responsibilities

• Electronic/electrical assembly and system installation.
• Modify and install avionics systems; fault finding and diagnosis.
• Mechanical enclosure/component assembly and harness work.
• Prototype assembly support with engineers; report changes.
• Conduct tests and diagnostics to support production.
• Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Operate power tools and handle manual tasks.
