Job summary

Civmec Construction & Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our Henderson, WA team for a Defence project delivering Offshore Patrol Vessels. You will work with operations to promote safe practices, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement on site.

Key responsibilities include risk assessment, incident investigations, audits, and developing HSE management systems while engaging with stakeholders and reporting on performance.

Qualifications

  • Cert IV in WHS is required.
  • ICAM or Taproot certification is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar HSE role.
  • Strong communication skills across diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert HSE advice and guidance aligning with standards, legislation and client expectations.
  • Developing and monitoring HSE management systems, procedures and policies for safe delivery.
  • Conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and inspections to identify hazards and corrective actions.
  • Championing a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, training and engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with project managers, subcontractors and stakeholders to align with HSE objectives.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate HSE reports, records and documentation for stakeholders.
  • Analyzing HSE performance and driving proactive safety solutions.

Civmec is seeking experienced HSE Advisors to join our Henderson, WA team, supporting a significant Defence project delivering state-of-the-art Offshore Patrol Vessels and our Henderson location in WA.

As part of Civmec's HSE team, you'll work closely with operational leaders across manufacturing, construction, maintenance, and corporate environments to promote safe work practices, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

The Role
  • Providing expert HSE advice and guidance in alignment with company standards, legislation and client expectations.
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring HSE management systems, procedures and policies to enable safe and sustainable project delivery.
  • Conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Championing a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, training sessions and engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with project managers, subcontractors and key stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment with HSE objectives.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate HSE reports, records and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by analysing HSE performance and driving proactive safety solutions
About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Cert IV in WHS
  • ICAM or Taproot certification
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar HSE role
  • Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proven incident investigation capability (ICAM, Taproot)

Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
